Silac uses CAD, Moldflow simulations, and 3D printing to compare variants, evaluate filling behavior, and create prototypes for initial testing. This allows for reliable coordination of material selection, design, and manufacturability even before tooling is built.
Recycled materials, bio-based granules, raw materials from by-products: Silac is actively testing alternative raw materials in its ongoing production operations—in collaboration with partners such as Kuori and the ZHAW. Materials such as“Biowa Olive”and “Paper Pearls” are tested for processability, mold behavior, and part quality.
