Education Builds a Future
With about 60 employees, we are a reliable employer in the Einsiedeln region. Supporting the next generation is particularly important to us: Year after year, we train young people in plastics technology, polymechanics, production, and business-related professions. Their enthusiasm for their craft and their fresh ideas drive us forward. Many former apprentices remain loyal to the company—some are already in their second generation. This fills us with pride and shows that training at Silac goes far beyond technical skills.
Support for Sports and Culture – Where Life Thrives
Our commitment extends far beyond the factory gates. Whether the FC Einsiedeln youth team is on the field, the volleyball club is competing for crucial points on the beach court, or the gymnastics festival is bringing the entire region together—Silac is there. The Youth Festival is also particularly close to our hearts, because it’s there that we get to see young talents flourish.
For us, these investments are a matter of course. They strengthen our sense of community and create spaces where people can come together, making life in Einsiedeln worth living.
Euthal Theater—A Labor of Love with a Long Tradition
At the heart of our cultural involvement is the Euthal Theater. Even back in the old company building, the “Benziger Geschäftshaus” in Euthal, the theater group found a stage at Silac. With the construction of the new building in 1990, it gained a permanent home in the staff room—a partnership that goes far beyond ordinary sponsorship.
The story begins with Herbert Birchler: Even during the planning phase of the new building, he took the theater’s needs into account. The result is a space that serves two purposes—during the day, it’s a break room for our staff; in the evenings and on weekends, it’s a stage for powerful emotions. His son, Peter Birchler, continues this tradition with the same enthusiasm.
During the theater season, our break room gets a makeover: the tables make way for the stage, and the workspace turns into a small theater with a special atmosphere. Our employees are happy to make this change—many of them are avid theatergoers themselves and eagerly look forward to the performances.
On October 18, 2025, the new season kicks off with a special play: “Schier wiä früehner” by Bernd Gombold, published by Theaterverlag Elgg, promises humorous entertainment at the high standard we’ve come to expect from Theater Euthal. You can look forward to several performances through December 6.
