After a little over a year of construction, we have successfully completed the two-story expansion at our headquarters in Euthal. The new, two-story building, which features its own rooftop solar array, will be used for storage and production; with 3,000 m², it nearly doubles our previous floor space.

On Time Despite the Pandemic

We are very proud that, despite the challenging conditions caused by the COVID-19 crisis, we were able to complete construction on schedule. When construction sites in Ticino and French-speaking Switzerland began closing one after another in the spring, we feared the worst for our ambitious schedule. Fortunately, our suppliers and employees were spared from the virus, so we were able to move six injection molding machines into the new facility in April 2020 as planned, and no short-time work had to be implemented.

Doubling the area

The new, two-story building will be used for storage and production, and at 3,000 m², it nearly doubles our current space. We are investing in even greater efficiency, increased capacity, and further improvements in quality, enabling us to meet our customers’ growing needs.

The expansion is designed so that even heavy machinery can be delivered and put into operation without any problems. In addition, we will be able to consolidate our existing warehouse space at the Euthal site. The new production facilities will enable even higher hygiene standards, which are becoming increasingly important, particularly for products intended for the food industry.

Sustainable Energy

The roof area of the new production facility is also being put to optimal use. A modern photovoltaic system consisting of a total of 432 solar modules adorns the building’s roof. Today, approximately 10 percent of the facility’s electricity needs are already being met with environmentally friendly solar energy.

This expansion is part of Silac AG’s carefully considered and controlled growth strategy. The expansion of our production capacity is based on our company’s successful and sustainably sound development over the past few years. We are and will remain a family-owned business that prioritizes customer focus and maximum speed. The reliability, quality, and flexibility expected of a Swiss company remain our top priorities.
